Battleship Musashi fires her 18.1" guns

On May 5, 2015, a Japanese newspaper published this photo of Musashi firing her main rifles during gunnery trials.

The photo was provided by the family of BB Musashi's gun operator, Tameshige Nagahashi, and had never been published until 2015.

aki_onda on Tully's Port adds this detail: "According to former JSDMF RAdm TUTSUMI Akira (Retired), this photo is authentic. Judging from records, this photo was took on July 26 or 29, 1942 at IYONADA. Just few days before her Commission on Aug. 5, 1942"

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only close-up photo of the Yamato-class firing its big guns. In this photo it appears that Musashi has just fired a 3-shot salvo with her rear "C" turret.
