The following remarkable sequence of photos, taken by two different USN planes from different vantage points, documents a ferocious bombing attack on Yamato.

Here the first bombs can be seen detonating to her starboard.

Here, the ship has taken a sharp turn, manouvering in a circle, to avoid the coming attack.
